The Who's Who of German-language farming simulator streamers, together with ISARIA Digital Farming and GIANTS Software, makes a donation for Ukraine Emergency Fuand the World Food Programme.

Saturday evening is streaming time on Twitch. On 23.04.2022, ISARIA Digital Farming and GIANTS Software, developer and publisher of Farming Simulator 22, invited to a special event. Under the motto #FutureForFarming, four of the most famous farming simulator streamers from the German-speaking region took on the big challenge together and raised 5,000 EUR for the Ukraine Emergency Fund of the World Food Program.

Working together for a good cause

Nastus1, Farmer_in_MV, TwitchFarming and Werner Burning Games Many fans of Farming Simulator 22 are familiar with it. Fans of the “LS22” scene know them from their individual streams — each with their own charm, their own way of working, some purely virtual farmers, others also in the field during the day and full-time.

For the Twitch campaign #FutureForFarming, to the delight of the fans, they teamed up and hosted a team stream that has never existed before in this composition.

The mere fact that the four streamers took on the challenge as a dream team underlines that everyone involved wanted to do more than “just” present the advantages of smart farming tools in a playful way. It was important for the streamers, ISARIA and GIANTS to work as a team, to have fun and to give the Twitch viewers a carefree evening: to set an example together, for a good cause. “That was a really big movie theater at prime time,” said Lars Malcharek, Community Manager GIANTS Software.

“Especially in these rough times, we all wanted to show together that a lot can be achieved with solidarity and team play,” added the streamers. As an extra motivation, ISARIA promised a donation of 5,000 euros, which could be earned in stages by reaching a number of milestones. As a fundraising purpose directly related to agriculture and current crisis situations, everyone agreed jointly on the Ukraine Emergency Fund of the World Food Programme.

Team Game strong: 5,000 EUR earned as a donation

Two teams in Farming Simulator 22 with the Precision Farming DLC — a common goal. Encouraged and motivated by the very active LS22 community, the streamer teams raised donations for the Ukraine Emergency Fund using ISARIA plant sensors.

In a two-hour challenge, both teams had to reach three levels:

Both teams had to reach the final stage to raise a donation of 5,000 EUR. The overall winner was the team around the real farmers — TwitchFarming & Landwirt_in_MV — with an environmental score of 100% on all three fields. They have earned additional premium giveaways for their community. To the delight of the Twitch viewers, the team from Nastus1 & Werner Burning Games also achieved the best possible score of 100% shortly before the time was up.

At the peak, over 5,000 Twitch users watched the streams live and after 2.5 hours on the virtual field, 5,000 euros were in the donation account. “We really cheered on and are very pleased that this sum was raised for a good cause in the end. Many thanks to all participants — really strong,” summarized Bernhard Limbrunner, Head of Technology & Development ISARIA. The campaign continued to be well received afterwards. With the campaign, GIANTS and ISARIA together reached over 1.4 million people on the social web and cumulated over 50,000 video views.

Strong partners in modern agriculture

In order to remain sustainable in agriculture, there is no way around smart farming. Due to the current difficult conditions, demand-based fertilization is therefore becoming increasingly important.

So it's no wonder that plant sensors play an essential role in the Precision Farming DLC for “Farming Simulator 22.” For optimal and sustainable fertilization with a view to nitrogen supply, players can choose between two types of ISARIA plant sensors to measure the nitrogen supply of crops and apply the appropriate amount of fertiliser. An ideal introduction to discovering and learning the topic of “Smart Farming” in a playful way.

The free Precision Farming DLC was released on ModHub for Farming Simulator 22 on PC and consoles on April 19. The project, led by Dr. Thomas Engel/ John Deere, co-financed by the EU and funded by EIT Food, Europe's leading innovation and technology institute for nutrition, is intended to attract attention to sustainable technologies in agriculture.
