Needs-based fertilization is becoming increasingly important. In order to remain sustainable in agriculture, there is no way around smart farming. From now on, this also applies to virtual agriculture. As part of the free Precision Farming DLC and as a further milestone in the cooperation between ISARIA & GIANTS Software — developer and publisher of Farming Simulator 22 — fans of the virtual farming simulation can now playfully dive into the world of smart farming.
Since April 19, in the software published by GIANTS Farming Simulator 22 ISARIA plant sensors retrievable. For optimal and sustainable fertilization with regard to nitrogen content, players can choose between two types of ISARIA plant sensors to measure the nitrogen content of field crops and apply the appropriate amount of fertiliser. An ideal introduction to virtually exploring the topic of “smart farming” and familiarizing yourself with the agricultural trends of the future.
With the free Precision Farming DLC, the ISARIA PRO Compact and the ISARIA PRO Active available in Farming Simulator 22. What are the differences in the specifications and application options of the two sensors?
The ISARIA PRO Active is — as the name suggests — an “active” sensor: It is installed in front of the tractor and, thanks to the high-performance LED measurement system, can be used non-stop day and night, as it works independently of environmental influences.
The ISARIA PRO Compact is a passive sensor. This is attached to the mirrors and a reference sensor on the tractor roof to measure lighting conditions also supplements the system. This plant sensor was specially developed for use in daylight and is also worthwhile for farms with less than 100 hectares of arable land.
With the help of an optimal analysis of the crops and the fruits found there, every farmer can now further optimize their yield. By precisely measuring the pH and nitrogen values in the field, the output rate during fertilization can be optimally adjusted in the next step. This not only creates optimal plant growth, but also has a positive effect on the Environmental Score.
The free Precision Farming DLC is available in ModHub for Farming Simulator 22 PC and consoles available. The project, led by Dr. Thomas Engel/ John Deere, co-financed by the EU and funded by EIT Food, Europe's leading innovation and technology institute for nutrition, is intended to attract attention to sustainable technologies in agriculture.
